I recently acquired some bottom paint so work has begun on prepping the hull bottom. I decided to remove the four through hulls using a dremel tool and then glassing over from the inside. Once glassed, I filled the
remaining cavity on the outside with West Marine epoxy mixed with 407 fairing compound. The image on the left also shows the stansion restoration after completion.
Next I sanded the the hull bottom removing all paint and sanding into the original gelcoat using 60 grit paper. After several weeks of sanding, I then washed the hull down with acetone and began the slow process of skim coating with the West
